Who We Are

Hello there. My name is Andrew, and I'm the founder and owner of Coal Mountain Coffee Company. Like a lot of great stories, this one starts with family. My big sister was the first in our house to really fall in love with coffee—not just drinking it, but exploring it. Roasts, grinds, origins, the whole deal. We had a decent-sized age gap, but making coffee together in the mornings became one of our earliest bonds. What started as a way to help her out in the kitchen eventually turned into something we could both geek out about as she grew up and moved out.

A few years later, at the start of the COVID pandemic, I found myself working in a family-owned coffee shop. It was one of the few places still open despite the lockdowns, and I'll never forget how many regulars leaned on that morning cup just to make it through their daily routine. For a lot of people, that coffee run was the routine. A small consistency they could still count on, and a comforting reason to get out of the house. That corner shop became a sort of lifeline, a place where strangers bonded over a shared love (let's be honest, addiction) to coffee. It stuck with me.

It made me think about how we as Americans have our roots in overcoming impossible odds and accomplishing great things. From our nation’s founding to today, each generation of Americans has faced their own kind of hardship, and something as simple as a good cup of coffee might’ve brought a small measure of comfort to them all. Years later, I finally brought that idea to life with Coal Mountain Coffee Company. Built on the belief that good coffee isn't complicated. It just has to be crafted with care, roasted to bring out the best, and brewed for the days that demand more. Mornings are hard; they don't have to be bitter.
